Compensation for Air France's Cancellation of our Paris to Seattle flight

I never hurts to complain when it is appropriate.  Since Air France cancelled our flight just two hours before the scheduled departure, according to EU rules, we were entitled to compensation.  That required filing claim forms, which took a bit to figure out, but in the end, we each received checks from Delta Airlines (US partner for Air France) for $700 as compensation.  It's a good thing the EU has laws mandating compensation under these circumstances.  We're not sure the FAA or NTSB has any similar rules in place.  Congress really needs to pass an Airlines Passengers Bill of Rights to prevent further passenger abuses and inhumane conditions on US flights.
