20240927 Friday, September 27, 2024- Back to the Little Room
Ben has had to dip into our pharmacy for what is now a full blown cold. We moved back up to our original stateroom on the 8th floor. While it is perfectly suitable and comfortable, we will miss that Penthouse suite.
The ship has slipped into fog as we cruise south off the Kurile Islands towards Japan. After breakfast, Ben walked the promenade deck instead of using the gym because of his cold.
Our fifth progressive quiz went well enough. We scored 12/15, which was good enough to place first today. We added to our progressive lead to 9 points. There is a real contest between 2nd and 3rd places among several teams to keep the competition keen.
We have been keeping busy enough on these sea days, and have been pleased with the overall cruise experience so far. Ben attended a lecture in the morning, but we watch most of the lectures on the in room on demand video system. The lectures have been generally good and interesting. We have heard much worse lectures on Princess. We did watch Gentlemen Prefer Blonds on the TV, which we haven’t seen before.

The Chef’s Table featured food of the UK including Scotch Eggs, fish and chips, and roast beef with Yorkshire pudding. The fish and chips were very good, as was the Scotch Egg. The roast beef was very tender but also pretty fatty. It’s all better with all the wine they pour.

After dinner, we were able to catch the very end of the Ventriloquist’s second show, and saw that he has both of his dummies outfitted with the ability to do some limited animation without his direct contact. The humor remained the same.
Our clocks move back yet another hour tonight.
