Thursday, February 8, 2018- Cruise Day 16; At Sea

Our at sea days are developing a routine of breakfast in the dining room, a short walk, and Morning Trivia.  We seem to finish in second place more often than not, and there are some very good trivia players on this cruise where the majority of passengers carry the silver and black cards of experienced cruisers.  

We went for a swim and relaxed on the pool deck before an informal lunch at the Horizon Court.  We then returned to our room and relaxed a bit on our balcony to build up our tans. 

We got changed out of our swim gear and attended the afternoon trivia where we put in a rather dismal showing, finishing 6 points behind the leaders.

We had an early dinner and managed to get seated for the Showtime Piano Entertainer Stephane Kane’s early show.  We had sat at the back of the auditorium for the last half of his first show, and this show was similar with pop tunes and piano man keyboard work.  He is billboarded as a “Fast” keyboarder, but his show was more vaudevillian.  He did a long medley of TV show themes, and it was fun to guess the themes before the names came up on the screen.

We had an invitation to a Captain’s Circle reception at 7:00PM, which supplanted our evening trivia.  They did have a hosted open bar, so that was nice.  They introduced the longest cruisers on the ship and there were 3 couples with over 1200 days at sea with Princess.  There were 3 new members to the 500+ day club.  There was a raffle, but it was not for Elite benefits since more than half the people in the room were already Elite members.  It as just for champagne, and we didn’t get our names drawn.  

We retired to our balcony to watch a beautiful sunset with blue sky above, and clouds forming mirage-like illusions on the horizon.  

Tomorrow we arrive at Ilhabela, our second Brazilian port of call. We just plan on walking around the village area.  We’ll have to pack our bags for our Iguazu Falls excursion soon.
